Spring Erie Steelhead can mean colder weather, snow and stream ice. Timing is very important. I mainly fish the extreme western side streams that have Pa and stray Ohio fish. These are usually post-spawn, agressive fish. Mid-March, weather dependent.
This has been a “bread & butter” trip for us for many years. Sight fishing for six to ten pound average fish is the norm. Beautiful fall foliage and excellent weather make for a wonderful day on the stream. Watching a Steelhead take your offering and take off like a rocket is an exciting experience. Dates for October 2017 trip will be posted in January 2017.
